The populace of Cold Keep has spoken:
let it be known that [Name]
has demonstrated exceptional enrichment of, and service to, our shire,
and we hereby present this gentle with this token of recognition
and hereby name them "Light of the North".
Bestowed on this ##th day of [Month] [Anno Societas Year]
Method of choosing recipients
The recipient of this token will be chosen by the previous recipients based on personal observation and recommendations from the populace of the Shire.
- Recommendations from the populace of Cold Keep are encouraged as they are vital to the selection process: no one person can see everything another person does
- The populace of Cold Keep, for purposes of nominations and recommendations, is considered to be anyone who is a member of the Shire of Cold Keep or the WolfPack
- A Letter of Recommendation must include justification of the nomination; submitting a name without giving reasons why that person is worthy of consideration will result in that nomination being disregarded.
- Please nominate only one candidate for the year
Conditions for Recipients:
- Must be a geographical resident of Cold Keep (ie anyone within the geographical borders of Prince George, including the WolfPack)
- There will be a maximum of one recipient per year: note that there may be a year or more when there is no recipient
- A committee of all recipients of the Shire Token must select any new recipients based on their own observation and the recommendations of the populace of Cold Keep
- The populace of Cold Keep is encouraged to recommend new recipients
Original Light of the North information can be found in the September 2004 issue of "The Portcullis"
