Feast of the Evergreens

The Shire of Bordergate invites you to our annual Feast of the Evergreens! Held on Saturday, 10 April 2010 at the Riverhurst Hall. Doors open at 10 am and our Pied Piper for the event, Oswyn, has put together some games and fun for the children.

We have a fun-filled day planned starting with Archery! The ever-popular "Balinor's Stuffed Animal Massacre" will be running from 11 am to 1 pm in the outside arena (weather permitting), and there will even be a good chance that there may be a prize or two to be won!
Immediately after the archery we will begin the Championship of the Evergreens inside the hall. Last year's champion, Jasmine, will be running the games from 1 - 2:30 pm for those 14 years of age and up. Come and test your skills on some unique games and vie for the honour of the championship, which has been won by knights, barons, and even a duke in its history!

For Rapier buffs, it is also our Annual Shire of Bordergate Rapier Champion Tourney run by Lord Tomas Alveraz from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. Our finest blades will be out the test their mettle against each other. The annual Alvarez Cup will also be held.
Arts & Sciences will be represented with the Shire of Bordergate's first ever A&S Championship! Displays of the entrants will be out all day for your viewing pleasure and will be judged throughout the day. There will also be a "People's Choice" portion, so come and choose your favourites!

Lady Fleur is cooking up a Celtic feast for the evening, so bring your appetite! Also during the feast, there will be some interesting audience interactive games and entertainment on-going throughout the dinner as well. We are running a Celtic theme throughout the evening, so dress in your best Celtic Greenery and get your name put in for a "mystery prize" draw.

Cash or cheque. Make cheques out to "SCA Canton of the Lakelands". The trolls will be there in the morning to cheerfully take your money.
Please reserve for the feast by March 20th so that the feastocrats have plenty of time to prepare. Crash space is available on a first come, first served basis with various members of our Shire.

Directions: From west or south, take highway 28 to Ardmore and turn north (left) onto highway 892 all the way to highway 55. Turn east (right) and travel to the Riverhurst Hall on south (right) side of the road. Signs will be posted. From the east, take your best route to Cold Lake. Head towards Cold Lake north and turn west (left) onto highway 55 west. Follow highway to Riverhurst Hall on south (left) side of the road. Signs will be posted.
