June Coronet

Shire of Bitter End
Red Deer, Alberta
June 4-6, 2010

Their Highnesses of Avacal Prince Wernar and Princess Helene wish to invite the populace of the known world to Their Coronet tournament to determine the new Heirs to the Coronet of Avacal.

Regarding the format for the Coronet Tournament, Their Highnesses of Avacal wish the following:

1. No more than three striking surfaces
2. Shields shall conform to tournament sizing ie. heater shield shoulder to shoulder chin to crotch
3. SCA membership and subscription to the Advantgarde
4. All consorts shall attend the Princess's morning tea
(special permission required for non attendance)
5. A display of heraldry

Schedule to soon follow, watch for posts!

There will be tournaments in archery, rapier and equestrian. Any horses coming must be registered with HL Tessa (Lori Smith) at chanceythehorse@hotmail.com by May 28th the latest! All owners must show proof of current vancinations, bring their own feed and water pail. Stalls will be provided. No Studs please!

LOTS, I repeat, LOTS of camping space (you do not need to reserve for camping space but pre-registering will get you thru gate faster as no one will be allowed to set up until gate fees are paid). For those wanting to bring RV's...we do have flat ground for you, but there are no hookups provided. If you wish there is a campground on a lake within 10 mins to the site that does have hookups, etc. Please contact HL Tessa for more info.

Pets are allowed but MUST be leashed at all times and cleaned up after!

Above ground fires are allowed (pending no fire bans). There will be some wood onsite for purchase, aside from that you MUST supply your own wood. Anyone burning a fire MUST have adequate devices for putting out a fire at close hand (fire extinguishers and or buckets filled with water/sand)!

Merchants are asked to pre-register with the autocrats, there is no merchant fee for this event, but a donation to the silent auction is highly encouraged!

There is running water onsite including flush toilets and 2 SHOWERS! The showers are not coin operated and so we ask that everyone limit their shower time to under 10mins. so as to allow others the opportunity to shower as well.

Pied Piper! Yes we will have pied piper activities onsite for children of all ages! Parents, please keep in mind that there are many dangers nearby to the site (including railroad tracks, lake, Hwy. and horses!). Keep a close eye on your children and know where and what they are doing at all times!

Site rules WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED! Please do not enter any area unless authorized to enter (specifically barn and horse arenas)! We are close to the town of Alix and suspect that local RCMP will be stopping by to "check up on us". Please be certain to follow all mundane laws including no consumption of alcohol by a minor! Anyone caught not adhearing to mundane and site rules may be removed by autocrat or authorized representative! Lets have a fun and safe event!

Site opens at 12:00pm on Friday June 4, 2010 and closes at 12:00pm on Sunday June 6, 2010
