Avacal War Practice 2008

Shire of Rhuddglyn
Alsask, SK
March 7-9, 2008

Join us in a nice, warm indoor hall to practice WAR! This is the perfect time to run through battle scenarios and strategies and put it to work! Then, relax for a great evening of socializing. The event has the same set up as in previous years: food is included with the site fee and crash space is in the hall.

Location: Recreation center, Alsask, Saskatchewan (no postal code) Directions: Find your best route to Alsask on Saskatchewan Highway 7, about 2 miles East of the Alberta Border. This highway is known as
Highway 9 on the Alberta side. Turn towards the Town of Alsask (south - Highway 44). Go approximately 1 mile, and turn right into what looks like an old Air Force Base. The turnoff is on top of the first hill. Turn right at the T intersection, and left immediately after that. You should be at the Alsask Village Rec Center.

Site opens Friday at 5pm and closes Sunday at noon.
Cost: $20/person

Food: Pots of soup, chili and stew, with bread. We hope to make enough to last the entire event for everyone so please let the autocrat know you're planning to attend. People may also bring some of their own food, or be prepared to buy food in restaurants or in local grocery store. There is a kitchen on site. There is reportedly a great burger place in the Town of Marengo, 15 minutes east.

Lodging: There is space in the hall for up to 75 people to sleep with showers available. Again, bring your own beds and bedding, it is general camping on a cement floor. The closest option for light sleepers would be Oyen.

Activities: Official War stuff will happen on the Saturday around noon.

Autocrat: Please call or email Manyra if you plan to attend so we know how much food to make. Cell 403-581-1539 (leave message). Mailing address: Box 147 Hays, AB T0K 1B0
