Bardic Activities

There will be lots of opportunities to participate in the bardic arts (song, story, poetry) at this year's Quad War!

As performing guests, we have:
- Mistress Marian of Heatherdale (modern recording artist Heather Dale -- www.HeatherDale.com). Mistress Marian is one of the better-known bards in the Known World, and is travelling to Quad War specially from Ealdormere.
- Galeran Chanterel, the current Kingdom Bard of An Tir (all the way from Oregon),
- Montengarde's own "Hero Incredible" (www.myspace.com/heroincredible),
- Middle Eastern dancing by the lovely Zenovia.

We will be offering a wide range of fun classes, guest concerts, how-to workshops, and bardic circles -- all are welcome to join in and/or watch. In both the Historical & Current Middle Ages, the bardic arts offer not just entertainment, but they also bring people together to celebrate their own community. To that end, we are hosting a BARDIC WRITING CHALLENGE: "Create or perform a song/story/poem about your Shire, Barony or Kingdom." What inspires you? What was your first/best moment in the SCA? What's your group's heraldic beast? Entries will be judged in a light-hearted competition on Sunday afternoon... again, all are welcome to watch and/or take part.
