Sextus Curtius Maximus
Sextus Curtius Maximus is a Centurion serving the S.P.Q.R. prior to the Civil
War that led to the transition from the Republic into the Empire of Rome.
Born in the year 85 BC in the great Republic of Rome, Curtius was the sixth
child of Decimus Curtius Maximus and Tiberia Servilia Aquila, both of the
Equestrian (Noble) class.
Upon coming of age, Sex. Curtius Maximus entered the S.P.Q.R. Legion and preformed
well enough to propel him into the status of Centurion upon his completion
of the first fourteen years of his military career in Cyprus under the influence
of the then assistant to Cato (the Governor of Cyprus) Marcus Junius Brutus,
and given command of a cohort of Hastati.
Recalled to Rome in 49 BC due to slave uprisings, and still heavily influenced
by Brutus and his conservative standpoints during a period of distinct unrest,
Sex. Curtius Maximus leads a cohort of 80 Principes tasked within the Republic
to keep the peace. Being that he is unquestionably loyal to the Republic of
Rome, this is easier said then done, as whispers that the actions of Gaius
Julius Caesar and his unofficial triumvirate which also included Marcus Licinius
Crassus and Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus will undoubtedly throw Rome into Civil
War.
