The Shire of Rhuddglyn is pleased to host Their Majesties Vik & Inga and Their Highnessess Hjalti & Eirika for Avacal's June Coronet Tournament

Their Highnesses of Avacal, Prince Hjalti and Princess Eirika, wish to invite the populace of Avacal and beyond to Their Coronet tournament to determine the new heirs of Avacal. Site opens at 5pm on Friday, June 5th, and closes at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 7th.

His Highness Hjalti has declared that His Coronet Tournament will be a standard double elimination tournament format, with the weapons being restricted to three striking surfaces (any combination of blades/thrusting tips not to exceed three total,) and shield sizes same as required by HRM Vik for May Crown. That being: "Heater style shields must be shoulder to shoulder, chin to crotch. These measurements will be checked with the combatant in armor, sitting on a bench and not lifting their chin. Round shields will be measured elbow to elbow with the top two knuckles of each hand touching. In both shield styles, material may be moved from the sides and added to the top and bottom to change the shape. A fighter may only reduce the width to a maximum of half."

Adults: $12.00 if Pre-paid before May 25, 2009
After May 25th, 2009 Adults: $15.00
Saturday only fee: $8.00.

Campground is located 32 km north from Hwy 1 on Hwy 36 about 30 minutes from Brooks AB. There is a convenience store/gas station & liquor store located 10 minutes away in Duchess. The site has one shower stall at $1.00 for 3 minutes, and tested drinking water available at a pump.
Power sites are available for a fee. Please call the campground to book at (403) 362-3266 - this is separate from registering for the event.
Pets are welcome BUT must be on a leash at all times and picked up after, Please!

Directions:
From the West: take Hwy 1 East to Brooks AB, and turn left (North) onto Hwy 36. Follow the directions at the *
From the East: take Hwy 1 West 5 km past Brooks and turn right (North) onto Hwy 36. Follow the directions at the *
From the South: take Hwy 36 North towards Hwy 1. Follow the directions at the *
*Drive 32 km North on Hwy 36 to Emerson Bridge Campground, a left turn BEFORE crossing the Red Deer River.
From the North: take your best route to Hanna, AB, turn South onto Hwy 36 and continue 81 km, CROSS the Red Deer River and turn right into the campground. WATCH FOR SIGNS! Maps to be posted shortly...
