Meistres Manyra Thorindottir was born near Cilgarren Castle in Wales on March 15, 1155 (Ides of March - day Julius Ceasar died) She is obsessed with the myths of King Arthur as they were told to her in her Welsh homeland. Now a widow, she has traveled to many parts of An Tir and Ealdormere as a lady in waiting. She helped create Rhuddglyn's doomsday book submission and has served most recently as Avacal's Chronicler from Aug 2002 to Aug 2006. Now that she's free from office her interests have grown to include more illumination (her calligraphy sucks) and combat archery but she still finds time to read about knights and King Arthur. Her favourite life moment is meeting Chretian de Troyes while serving as a lady in waiting for the daughter of Queen Eleanore of Aquitaine. Awards: Order of the Pelican, Blood of the Wood, Goutte da Sang, Gilded Gryphon, AOA Time Spent In SCA: Since September 1995. First event was Feast of Stories in Seagirt run by College of St. Giles. |
